2009 Daylight Saving Referendum Arguments
The following documents contain arguments supporting the 'Yes' and 'No' cases for the question in the 2009 Daylight Saving Referendum. The arguments are presented here, having been correctly authorised, in accordance with the requirements of the Referendums Act 1983.
You are encouraged to read these arguments prior to making your decision about how you will mark the ballot paper on polling day 16th May 2009.
Consistent with the statutory requirements, content of these arguments has been printed as they were presented to the Western Australian Electoral Commission.
Question
Are you in favour of daylight saving being introduced in Western Australia by standard time in the State being advanced one hour from the last Sunday in October 2009 until the last Sunday in March 2010 and in similar fashion for each following year?
