Question:
What happens if I change my address?
Answer:
Once you have lived at your new address for one month or longer you are required to enrol for your new address. You cannot be enrolled for your new address until you have lived there for one month.
You are required to complete an Electoral Enrolment Form for your new address. Forms can be downloaded from this site (see 'More information' below to download an enrolment form).
Forms are also available from all Post Offices, Electoral Commission Offices and from the electorate offices of Parliamentary Members.
Once your enrolment card has been processed you should receive an acknowledgement card in the mail to confirm your enrolment details. Keep this card in a safe place for future reference.
If you have not received your acknowledgement card within 4 weeks of posting your enrolment claim card please ring the nearest Australian Electoral Commission office.
