Is it compulsory to enrol to vote?

Answer:

If you are 18 years of age and eligible, you must enrol to vote. You may be fined if you do not. You can enrol from 17 years of age, however, you cannot vote until you have turned 18 years of age. Is voting compulsory? It is compulsory for every elector to record his/her vote at any state or federal election for the district, region or division for which he/she is enrolled. Voting at local government elections is not compulsory in Western Australia.
