Enrolment
Have you changed your enrolment details? You may have changed address by moving to a:
- new house;
- nursing home; or
- retirement home
If so, then you must complete a new Application for Electoral Enrolment form (PDF, 178.85 kB). Application for Electoral Enrolment forms are also available from the Western Australian Electoral Commission office, all Australian Electoral Commission offices and any post office.
Application to Receive an Early Vote
If you are an elector, or if you are caring for an elector who is seriously ill or infirm and cant easily attend a polling place, you can apply to become a registered General Early Voter.
A voting package will automatically be sent to you each time that a State election is held. Application forms are available from the Western Australian Electoral Commission or any Australian Electoral Commission office.
Mobile Polling
Mobile polling teams visit many hospitals and special institutions in the week prior to the election to allow residents, either temporary or permanent, the opportunity to vote without having to leave the complex.
The date and time that mobile polling will take place will be advertised at the venue and will be in the week before polling day.
Travelling on Polling Day?
If you will be travelling or on holidays on polling day and will not be within 8 kms of a polling place, you can:
- obtain an early vote by post in the three-week period before polling day. Application forms can be obtained from any post office; or
- cast an early vote in person in the two-week period before the election;
contact the enquiry line for locations.
Drive-in Polling Places
If you cannot vote at a normal polling place due to limited mobility, then you can vote at a drive-in polling place. Simply drive to one of the drive-in polling places on polling day, and a polling official will bring the ballot papers to you in your car. Locations will be advertised on this web site prior to the election and in The West Australian on polling day.
Accessible Parking Bays
The location of polling places with wheelchair access will be advertised on this web site prior to the election and in The West Australian on polling day.
Video Magnifiers
Video magnifiers which increase the image size of the ballot paper, will be available at designated pre-poll venues and polling places throughout the State to assist electors with vision impairment. The location of video magnifiers will be advertised on this web site prior to the election and in The West Australian on polling day.
Additional Services
The Commission also provides at all polling places:
- assistance to access the polling place;
- hand held magnifying sheets;
- desktop voting screens; and
- assistance to vote (only polling place staff are permitted to assist an elector to vote).
